Week Seven - Project 52 2018

Week Seven – 2018 Digital Scrapbook – Project 52

This is week seven of my Project 52 Project Life digital scrapbook for 2018. I’ve started this project so that I can keep track of my year and travels each week. I wrote a post earlier this year that you can read about this year’s theme,

This week I drove from Tucson, Arizona to Lakeside, Texas.  It was an 850-mile drive over two days!  Really…what was I thinking!

I made a lunch break on the first day at a rest area just west of Las Cruces, New Mexico.  It has a great view of the city but I especially love the larger than life roadrunner statue.  It is made out of recycled materials.  I just love it!

The RV park I stayed at for the week is on Medina Lake and has a lot of resident deer.  I loved seeing them around the campground.  I was especially excited about seeing several large bucks.  I’ve never been so close to a male deer with big antlers before.  It was awesome.

The park has some historical buildings on it.  One is an old river house.  It is pretty run down but still beautiful from a distance.

For this week’s spread, I created two pages using the Project Life App and the Project 52 Edition kit.

Week Six- Project 52 2018

Week Six- 2018 Digital Scrapbook – Project 52

This is week six of my Project 52 Project Life digital scrapbook for 2018. I’ve started this project so that I can keep track of my year and travels each week. I wrote a post earlier this year that you can read about this year’s theme,

Spent another lovely week in Tucson.   Just can’t get enough of the sun and warm temperatures.

I hadn’t expected the desert to be so beautiful.  But I got to see several spectacular sunsets.

I also took a drive up to Mount Lemmon.  It takes about an hour and a half.  During that time the scenery changes from desert and cactus to mountain views and alpine trees.  Definitely worth the time.

For this week’s spread, I created two pages using the Project Life App and the Project 52 Edition kit.  I love how the orange journal card matches the orange in my sunset picture!

New Project Life Project 52 Kits – February 2018

Project Life has released some new line of kits including a new Project 52 kit line called Project 52 Rad.

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read our disclosure policy for more information.

The Project 52 Rad kit is designed by Emily Merritt. I love the color palette of turquoise, orange, yellow, pink, and green. And the hand-drawn journaling and filler cards are so cute. She also used funky geometric patterns that pull the collection together.

I made these Project Life pages in the Project Life App. It was so fun picking out the journalling and filler cards!

This Project 52 Rad kit is available in the physical, digital, and Project Life formats.

In the physical products, Project 52 Rad has a core kit, chipboard stickers, a designer album, and specialty cards. These can be purchased on Becky Higgins online shop.

In the digital scrapbooking products Project 52 Rad has the full edition. However, it does not include the calendar addition

In the Project Life app there are the Project 52 Rad Kit, Project 52 Rad Calendar Kit, and Project 52 Rad Overlays. You can get these in the Project Life App by selecting the library icon and scrolling down to the New Kits section.

Remember to get an update of the Project Life app from the Google Play or Apple iTunes stores to see the new Project 52 Rad kit.

Week Five - Project 52 2018

Week Five – 2018 Digital Scrapbook – Project 52

This is week five of my Project 52 Project Life digital scrapbook for 2018. I’ve started this project so that I can keep track of my year and travels each week. I wrote a post earlier this month that you can read about this year’s theme.

This was a great week for connecting with old friends.  I love it when I can visit and hang out with friends while I’m traveling.  It is fun to share new experiences with them.

I was so excited to finally meet up with Jeff and Debbie.  They are also from the Seattle area and are traveling in their camper.  They left Seattle a couple of weeks after me and we had been trying to catch up with each other ever since.  I went to Southern California while they went on to Texas and Florida.

But luckily, I saw that they were heading back from Florida and where in Texas on Facebook.  So I knew they might be headed towards Arizona.  I texted them and we were able to arrange for them to meet up at the RV park I was staying in near Benson.

We enjoyed a day of catching up.  And then we eat at the Horseshoe Cafe where I got to eat some chicken fried steak.

I also got to spend more time with some other friends from Seattle who recently moved to Tucson.  Ernestina and I have been friends for about ten years.  We had a great together in Tombstone, Arizona riding the stagecoach and dring sarsaparilla soda.

For this week’s spread, I created two pages using the Project Life App and the Project 52 Edition kit.

Week Four - Project 52 2018

Week Four- 2018 Digital Scrapbook – Project 52

This is week four of my Project 52 Project Life digital scrapbook for 2018. I’ve started this project so that I can keep track of my year and travels each week. I wrote a post earlier this month that you can read about this year’s theme.

This week I finally left California.  After spending the months of October, November, December, and most of January staying in various places there, it is time for me to start heading east.

From Palm Desert, I drove to Cottonwood, Arizona.  Cottonwood is at a much higher elevation than the desert floor of California, so it was much colder there.  However, it is a beautiful part of the country.

Last year when I was in Cottonwood, my friend, Myra came to visit me and we spent most of our time visiting places north of there including Sedona and the Grand Canyon.

Somehow, we missed Jerome.  So, I decided to visit there this trip.  And I sure am glad that I did!

Jerome is an old mining town first settled by non-native people in the late 1800s.  It has boomed and busted and has had a couple of different fires.  However, now it is a cute, mostly restored town, with shops and restaurants.

I only stayed in Cottonwood a few days.  It was really a stopping off place to break up the drive to Tucson where I have a couple of good friends.  Ernestina and Valerie moved there late last year from Seattle.

One of the best things about traveling full-time in my RV is that I get to visit friends along the way.

I drove to Benson, Arizona which is about 40 or so miles east of Tucson.  I’m staying at an RV park that is on the way to Tombstone, Arizona.

On my second day there, I drove into Tucson to visit Ernestina and Valerie.  I spent the afternoon with them and Ernestina’s cousin Robin.  It was great catching up and I look forward to next week when I’m staying in Tucson.

For this week’s spread, I created two pages using the Project Life App and the Project 52 Edition kit.

I really like how these pages turned out.  I added more text to one of the journaling cards because I wanted to capture more details about the photo to the right.

The filler cards really add to a spread when there isn’t a lot of photos.  Yet, it looks great! IMHO!

Week Three - Project 52 2018

Week Three – 2018 Digital Scrapbook – Project 52

This is week three of my Project 52 Project Life digital scrapbook for 2018. I’ve started this project so that I can keep track of my year and travels each week. I wrote a post earlier this month that you can read about this year’s theme.

My visit with my friend, Reisha, continued. Two of the highlights included a hike to Tahquitz Canyon waterfall and a day at the spa at the JW Marriott Spa and Resort.

We took the ranger-led hike to the Tahquitz Canyon waterfall. The ranger was very informative and talked a lot about the history of the canyon, the people who settled there, and the geology of the area. It was fascinating. The weather was warm and sunny. I was grateful for the areas of shade on the hike. The direct sun somehow feels hotter than the sun up in Seattle at the same outside temperature. Weird!

Palm Springs is known for its golf courses and resorts. There are so many of them that it was hard to decide which one to go to. But I’m glad that we visited the spa at the JW Marriott. Both Reisha and I opted for the European body scrub. My skin was so smooth and soft afterward. I also enjoyed the spa amenities and restaurant. The spa had three different saunas at various temperatures and a whirlpool. There was a pool that looked nice but we didn’t use it.

For this week’s spread, I created two pages using the Project Life App and the Project 52 Edition kit.

I didn’t add any of my own digital art this week since I was too busy having fun. That’s what I love about Project Life. Even when I don’t have the time or the desire to add my own touches, the pages turn out great.

Week Two - Project 52 2018

Week Two – 2018 Digital Scrapbook – Project 52

This is week two of my Project 52 Project Life digital scrapbook for 2018. I’ve started this project so that I can keep track of my year and travels each week. I wrote a post earlier this month that you can read about this year’s theme.

I spent another beautiful week in the Palm Springs area.  The first part of the week was spent in Cathedral City. Karma and I drove over to the Palm Springs Dog park.  She had a great time.  I was able to get a good picture of her in front of the cute dog bone benches.

It rained a couple of days which was a nice change.  But the best part was the rain left snow on the mountains.  Palm trees and snow!  What a treat!

The second half of the week was spent in Palm Desert.  On Friday, I picked up my friend, Reisha  who is from Seattle, at the airport.  The first call to business was mexican food!

We also went to downtown Palm Springs.  We had some great custard at Vinny’s.

For this week’s spread, I created two pages using the Project Life App and the Project 52 Edition kit.

I also made a copy of collages using patterns from the Project 52 Edition in AutoSketch Sketchbook.  I saved them as jpgs and then imported them into the Project Life app.

Week One - Project 52 2018

Week One – 2018 Digital Scrapbook – Project 52

This is week one of my Project 52 Project Life digital scrapbook for 2018. I’ve started this project so that I can keep track of my year and travels each week. I wrote a post earlier this week that you can read about this year’s theme.

This was my last week in San Diego. I spent part of November and December at Campland On The Bay on Mission Bay in the Pacific Beach neighborhood. On New Year’s Eve, a friend and I drove over to Coronado, California which is across the bay from San Diego to visit the historic beachfront hotel, the Hotel del Coronado. This is an incredible wooden Victorian building. If you are visiting San Diego, I highly recommend making the trip over to see the hotel, walk along the beach, and check out the shops across the street. It’s a great little day trip.

At the middle of the week, I drove three hours to the Palm Springs area to the town of Cathedral City. There were several evenings of beautiful sunsets. I loved getting the picture with the palm trees and sky. I also ate a great BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich at Zobo and Meesters which wasn’t far from the RV park I’m staying at.

And now that it is the beginning of the year, it is time for a new planner. This year I picked up the Happy Planner Goal Getter planner at Michael’s. I’m using it to keep track of my goals this year. I also added the Wellness Extension pack. I’m using the extension pack to write my daily gratitude and keep track of my daily meditation practice. And I also bought some planning stickers.

For this week’s spread, I created two pages using the Project Life App and the Project 52 Edition kit.  I really like the colors and patterns in this kit.

I used my AutoDesk SketchDesk App to create journal card of flowers.  I took a picture of a coloring book page and then imported different patterns from the kit.  I then made the areas inside the lines of the coloring book page transparent so that the patterns could show.

Project 52 First Page

Project 52 Digital Scrapbooking For 2018

Last year I started documenting my RV travels with digital scrapbooking using the Project Life App using the Kraft kit that comes free with the app.  I created a layout for each of the places I traveled.  Since I waited until the end of the year to get the pages together, it was a lot of work.  I like how the book turned out but wanted to do something different this year.  So this year, I’m using the Project 52 Edition kit.
